THE WORLD DOWNHILL CHAMPIONSHIPS 2009

Did you ever dream of a 4kms downhill in the Alps, followed by a big air by night, boardercross and party in front of 4000 people over the week-end ?

This is what Les Saisies will offer you this summer on july 4/5 with its "Lech Alla contest" (Keep cool in local language).

Saturday, july the 4th :

World Downhill Championships

Event format : 2 timed runs, on 2 different tracks. Addition of the times will crown the World champions, with and without brake.

From 9 am : Trainings, 1 chairlift open for riders.

1 pm : Start of the first run. Timed downhill, track 1.

3 pm : Start of the second run. Timed downhill, track 2.

6 pm : Prize giving.

7.30 pm : Freestyle session. A free session to have fun all together, in front a massive crowd. Last 1/2 hour will see the best 15 riders compete for the win.

First feature is a massive big air (6/8 meters), second feature is a 4 meters big air, and the last one is a very special one called "the  turtle"...

"Debrouya Sound System" will be there for the sound (ragga/hip hop/breakbeat), and jugglers and fire eaters for the show.

Free barbecue for all the competitors followed by a pop rock concert with "Timballoch".

Sunday, july the 5th :

4 men Boardercross, 250 meters long.

- 10 am : Trainings

- 11.30 am : Qualifications

- 16 pm : Prize giving. Special big prize for the overall winner on the 3 events.

All day, "Poil de caillou", rock folk fun...

During the week end :

- Mountain Festival, 4 to 5000 people are coming to the resort

- Free beginners trainings by Les Saisies mountainboard school

- Local and national TV shows

- Concerts, local bands...

Registration fees : 25 € on pre registration for the week-end, including the 3 events, food on saturday night and sunday lunch, lift ticket.

35 € for those who didn't pre registered.
